Which races are points races this year? I see they state 7 races for points but wasn't sure which ones do not count towards year end points.

I know it's early in the season but has there been any rumors about the Modular class going away?

Why even have a non-points race? Why spend the money to go and race in what is essentially a test and tune?

Both GA and TX are huge Mustang markets and with no Fun Ford races there it just makes sense to put on some type of event. Not for the class racers so much as it is for the local car show, bracket racers, etc...

I can't speak for Texas, but I know that Georgia already has tons of events with ORSCA basing out of the area. I can understand the NMRA wanting to keep their name on the local scene, but I don't understand why any of the non-local racers would bother to make the drive. It can't be for the money, can it?

Have not heard any Bill. BTW, I think the purpose of the GA and TX events is because most want to see Atco go away. So one or maybe both may replace Atco...they are just testing the market waters so to speak.

Right you won't get a ton of non-local racers because it's not a points race but some will still show up and no not for the money. Quote:
It's a long way out but I'm considering coming back and running Modular again. After the way 2004 ended for me it's bothered me and I've wanted to race again but just couldn't swing it. However now I have a solid tow vehicle, the car isn't too far from where it would need to be for me to race it and be legal. Last edited by Bill Putnam; 03-09-2010 at 04:56 PM. |

I'm surprised that the Modular class has lasted this long. Was concerned when Roush dropped the sponsorship for this season. Nice the Exedy clutch stepped up to sponsor the class. I've never heard of Exedy clutch before now.
If the car counts continue to be strong, I'm hoping the class will be around for a while longer. With the size of MM and OC at this point, combining the classes would be insane.
