Ok for once the snow has beaten my car. Stuff was nearly undriveable with only 3" on the ground. Very wet heavy snow. Think around 11:30am yesterday it had started to spit rain, 10 minutes later snow was mixing and another 10 minutes it went all snow. Within 40 minutes of seeing the rain it was nothing but a decent steady snow. That was south of Pittsburgh where I was working.
Got back to shop north of Pittsburgh and grass had bearly had a dusting. Now move ahead to about 3:30ish and ground is white. We tried to stay and help a guy put nerf bars on his F150 but that needed a hole enlarged so we decide to do it monday. So now it's after 5pm and there is 3" on the ground. 10pm lastnight I took this out window. Looked to be 8"+ at this time. ![]() This was taken out other window 9am today. The Jeep was stuck at 10pm lastnight. Notice parked cars the snow is at top of tires ![]()

Send it down here we can use it!
As much as I miss it at times...I don't. Great pics. I heard that Maryland was suppose to get hammered with a ton of snow as well. 4WD or AWD is practically mandatory there.

Beautiful, but you can keep it. We had about 5" last weekend here in Tennessee, and it made the whole state grind to a halt. Nearly all melted now though.

Roads look clear now, sun is out. Tried cleaning off my car and around it. Crap was up to my knees and parking lot at apartments is still fubar
Guy with Jeep was shoveling out. He said he went to check on roads lastnight and was doing fine when it felt funny. He lost 4x4 as front will not engage. Looked and vacume lines were on and an electrical connection was off but that didn't work. So he dug himself a nice spot to back into and get it out of way for plows. Now if the other ass would get that blue SUV out.![]()

I had enough snow when I was stationed in Alaska for 4 years, you can keep it.
My old Ranger: ![]() Woke up to snow up to the bumper one morning, about 2.5 feet fell over night: ![]() This is what the roads look like in that part of Alaska (Fairbanks) for 8 months of the year: ![]() They don't use salt in Alaska because it attracts moose to the road. They just spread some sand and gravel and let people learn to drive on 8" of ice. It was actually not bad once you got the hang of it and I never saw an accident in the winter off post. In the summer, once all of the ice melted and left tiny little pebbles and sand all over the road, people would be playing bumper cars. |

My inlaws in NJ got about 20" this past weekend. They had 22" the week before Christmas too. Crazy.
Then it started sleeting here in North Alabama this morning and I see a truck turned turtle in the road. I'd rather have 20" so people just can't move than deal with sleet and Alabama drivers.
